WWII U.S. Army Air Force’s Bullion Aircrew Wings Sleeve Patch-Blue Wool Uniform Insignia

Original World War II-era U.S. Army Air Forces bullion embroidered Aircrew Wings insignia. This beautifully hand-embroidered badge features silver bullion wings surrounding the “U.S.” monogram on a dark blue wool backing, a style commonly worn on Army Air Forces dress uniforms by qualified enlisted aircrew personnel including radio operators, engineers, aerial gunners, and other flight crew members. The Aircrew Badge was introduced in 1942 and remained in use throughout World War II. 

The badge displays attractive silver bullion work with raised wire embroidery, giving it excellent depth and visual appeal. The reverse shows evidence of uniform removal, consistent with period use. The wool backing has honest wear, making it a desirable original rather than a modern reproduction.
