Original WWII U.S. Army Signal Corps Frequency Meter BC-438, designed for the Signal Corps Radar Laboratory by Fred M. Link, New York, and supplied by General Electric, Schenectady, N.Y. Data plate shows Order No. 81-SCRL-42, placing this as an early WWII radar laboratory/test instrument.
Nice complete-looking unit in original military case with hinged door, internal schematic/calibration chart, large tuning dial, adjustment control, XTAL/V.O. switches, phone jack, power switch, fuse holder, indicator light, and power cord storage compartment. Excellent radar, Signal Corps, WWII electronics, ham radio, or restoration display piece.
Condition: Good original surplus condition with scratches, scuffs, finish wear, and age/storage marks. Interior charts are present and add strong display value. Untested and sold as collectible/display/restoration equipment.
