Original WWII U.S. Army Signal Corps Beacon Receiver BC-1206-B, a compact airborne radio navigation receiver used in military aircraft during World War II. The front panel retains its original tuning scale, control knobs, headphone jack, and identification markings.

The receiver is marked:

Signal Corps

Beacon Receiver BC-1206-B

28 Volts

Also present is an original warning tag stating:

“Important – When installing in airplane, make ground braid as short as possible.”

An additional factory tag notes the receiver is wired for 300-ohm output impedance with instructions regarding alternate impedance connections.

The BC-1206 series receivers were utilized for aircraft beacon navigation and homing operations, allowing pilots to locate radio beacons and navigate under adverse conditions. These systems played an important role in military aviation before the widespread adoption of postwar electronic navigation equipment.

The receiver retains its original black wrinkle finish and exhibits expected age and storage wear. Original wiring and installation tags remain present, significantly enhancing collector appeal.

A highly desirable piece of WWII aviation electronics and an excellent addition to any Signal Corps, aircraft radio, airborne navigation, or military communications collection.
