Original WWII U.S. Army Signal Corps Receiver-Indicator R-102/ARQ-9 manufactured by Western Electric Co., New York, N.Y. under 1944 military contract. This highly specialized airborne communications component was used with advanced aircraft radio and signal monitoring systems during WWII. Features original black wrinkle finish panel, complete controls and connectors, surviving data plate, and impressive internal chassis with numerous original vacuum tubes and hand-laced military wiring still intact.
The ARQ-series equipment was associated with sophisticated aircraft communications, interception, and monitoring systems used by the U.S. Army Air Forces. Western Electric-built Signal Corps electronics are highly regarded among WWII radio, radar, and SIGINT collectors due to their quality construction and limited surviving numbers.
An exceptional display and restoration candidate for collectors of WWII airborne electronics, radar equipment, and early military communications technology.
