WWII U.S. Army Signal Corps RCA Junction Box JB-46-A Radar/Radio Cable Assembly

Original WWII-era U.S. Army Signal Corps Junction Box JB-46-A manufactured by RCA Manufacturing Co., Inc., Camden, New Jersey. Data plate identifies the unit as Serial No. 3612 under Order No. 1403-PHILA-42, indicating wartime production.

This substantial communications/electronics junction assembly was designed to interconnect major components of a military radio or radar installation. The chassis retains its original Signal Corps identification plate, textured black finish, internal numbered terminal blocks, period cloth-insulated wiring, heavy-duty multi-pin military connectors, and several armored flexible cable assemblies. Connection plates are marked “TO RECEIVER,” “TO TRANSMITTER,” “TO POWER SUPPLY,” and “TO CONTROL BOX.”

Several of the armored cables retain old identification tags and their large military-style connectors. The removable cover allows the unusually well-preserved internal construction to be displayed, making this a particularly interesting piece for collectors of WWII radar, Signal Corps, early electronics, RCA equipment, or military communications technology.

Overall condition is very good for its age with expected scratches, finish wear, oxidation, and storage marks. Internal components and wiring appear substantially intact. Operational status has not been tested and the assembly is being offered as a historical collectible/display piece.
