Description:
Original AN/APS-20 radar receiver unit designated R-142B/APS-20, a component of the famous AN/APS-20 airborne search radar system developed during World War II and used extensively into the Cold War. The APS-20 was installed in aircraft such as the TBM Avenger, PB-1W, WV-2 Warning Star, and other early airborne early warning and maritime patrol platforms.
This receiver unit retains its original identification plate marked “R-142B/APS-20” and features numerous original controls, connectors, crystal current meter, tuning controls, and internal vacuum tube components. The unit remains housed in its original military-finished enclosure with carry handles and cooling vent assembly. A desirable display and research piece from one of the most historically significant radar programs of the WWII era.
Condition shows heavy storage wear, paint loss, oxidation, and age-related cosmetic deterioration. Untested and sold strictly as a historic military electronics collectible.
