Original WWII U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships Type CV-49416 Tube Tester Adapter Set, manufactured by Weston Electrical Instrument Corporation under Navy contract NXss-28614. This specialized wartime kit was designed to adapt electronic tube-testing equipment for testing cathode-ray/radar tubes used in U.S. Navy radar sets.

The fitted wooden carrying case retains its original Bureau of Ships identification plate and the large factory test-data/instruction plate inside the lid. The chart specifically provides testing specifications for Navy radar tubes including types 316A, 703A, 707A/GB, 708A, 713A and 446.

The kit retains its group of marked adapters, including CV-49411, CV-49412, CV-49413, CV-49414 and CV-49415, along with associated test leads and fittings. The fitted construction and individually numbered adapters make this an excellent surviving example of specialized WWII radar maintenance equipment.

Most importantly, this example includes original Weston/Navy paperwork, including packing lists referencing the Navy Department Bureau of Supplies & Accounts in Washington, D.C., the radar tube adapter equipment and the same Navy contract number. One document retains a prominent “NAVY INSPECTED” marking. Original paperwork surviving together with specialized wartime electronic test equipment significantly improves both its historical interest and collectibility.

Condition is very good for its age. The wooden case shows expected handling and storage wear, while the identification plates, adapters and paperwork remain attractive. Untested and sold as a historical military electronics collectible.
