WWII U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships CV-49416 Radar Tube Tester Adapter Set – Weston Electrical Instrument Corp.

Original WWII U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships Type CV-49416 Tube Tester Adapter Set, manufactured by Weston Electrical Instrument Corporation under Navy contract NXss-88614. This specialized test kit was designed for servicing and testing cathode-ray/radar tubes used in U.S. Navy electronic and radar equipment.

The set remains housed in its original fitted wooden carrying case with the original metal Navy identification plate. Inside the lid is the original CV-49416 Adapter Kit test-data chart providing specifications and testing instructions for several Navy radar tubes, including types 316A, 703A, 707AGB, 708A, 713A and 446.

The kit contains multiple individually identified adapters, including CV-49411, CV-49412, CV-49413, CV-49414 and CV-49415, along with associated vintage test leads and probes. The inside instruction plate specifically lists these five adapters as the original contents, making this appear to be a substantially complete set.

A particularly interesting piece of WWII naval radar maintenance equipment that would display well alongside Navy radar sets, CRTs, test equipment or other early military electronics.

Condition is good for its age with expected wear, oxidation, dust, deterioration to portions of the wiring and general storage wear to the wooden case. Components are untested and sold as historical collectibles.
