Original WWII U.S. Navy Condenser Box Type A manufactured by Kellogg Switchboard & Supply Company for naval aviation radar applications. The housing is clearly marked:
“Condenser Box Type A”
Manufactured for the U.S. Navy (Bureau of Aeronautics)
By Kellogg S. & S. Co.
Contract No. NOa(s)-2182
Mfr. No. CS-2190
This specialized electronic component was produced for use within U.S. Navy airborne radar systems during World War II. Components manufactured under Bureau of Aeronautics contracts were used in a variety of aircraft radar, communications, and electronic warfare applications.
The unit retains its original olive drab wrinkle finish and internal wiring assembly. The interior remains remarkably complete, showing the original terminal connections, wiring, and hardware. The exterior markings remain visible and legible, adding significant display and identification value.
Radar and electronic warfare components produced for the Bureau of Aeronautics have become increasingly sought after by collectors of WWII aviation technology, military electronics, radar history, and museum-quality displays. The clearly marked housing and intact internal components make this an especially attractive example.
An excellent artifact from the early era of military radar development and airborne electronics.
