WWII U.S. Navy ID-3/APQ-5 Radar Indicator / Scope Unit
WWII U.S. Navy ID-3/APQ-5 Radar Indicator / Scope Unit
Original WWII-era U.S. military aircraft radar indicator/scope unit, clearly marked ID-3/APQ-5 and dated 1504-DAY-44, indicating 1944 production. This is a heavy black wrinkle-finish radar display component with amber/yellow viewing screen, scale illumination control, azimuth on/off switch, brightness/centering controls, original connectors, and multiple data/control plates.
The APQ-5 designation makes this especially desirable as an early airborne radar/electronics component rather than a generic test instrument. Excellent display piece for a WWII aviation, U.S. Navy/Army Air Forces electronics, radar, or museum collection.
Condition shows age, scuffs, finish wear, and oxidation from service/storage. Untested and sold as a collectible/restoration component.
