WWII U.S. Navy R-89/ARN-5A Radio Receiver – Aircraft Navigation
Original WWII-era U.S. Navy aircraft radio/navigation receiver marked R-89/ARN-5A, 24V DC. The unit retains its original black wrinkle-finish case, mounting feet, front handle guard, Amphenol connector, test jack, and military stencil/data markings. This receiver was part of the AN/ARN-5 aircraft navigation/radio compass system, used in wartime and early postwar aircraft radio navigation applications.
The case displays well with strong original military finish and markings, including R-89/ARN-5A, contract/order markings, and Navy-style equipment layout. A solid piece for collectors of WWII aircraft radios, Navy avionics, radio compass gear, Bendix/ARN equipment, cockpit restoration, or radar/navigation display.
Condition: Vintage military surplus condition. Untested and sold as-is. Shows age, scratches, paint wear, dust, oxidation to connectors, and storage marks. Completeness and internal condition unknown. May require service, calibration, or repair before use.
