Original World War II U.S. Navy RU-16 Aircraft Radio Equipment coil set consisting of Range D (CW-47068) and Range F (CW-47070) coil modules housed in the original CW-47029 coil set container. Manufactured for the U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships by Western Electric under the April 21, 1941 contract. The aluminum coil modules remain securely mounted to the original carrier plate and store inside the textured steel transit case with identification plates intact. These interchangeable coil sets were used with the RU-16 airborne radio system to provide different tuning ranges for military aircraft communications. An excellent and increasingly hard-to-find complete accessory set for collectors of WWII aviation radios, Bureau of Ships equipment, or Western Electric military electronics.
