WWII U.S. One Star Service Banner- Standard Pennant Co.

Attractive vintage-style American Blue Star service banner featuring a single blue star centered on a cream-colored field with red outer body and contrasting blue trim. The banner is constructed in the traditional service-banner style with sewn fabric elements, decorative scalloped edging, hanging cord, and an applied gold-tone anchor/sweetheart-style ornament.

Blue Star service banners have a long American military tradition and were displayed by families to signify that a member of the household was serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The single blue star represents one family member in active military service.

This example carries a Standard Pennant Co., Big Run, Pennsylvania maker marking. While the overall construction closely follows WWII-era service banners, we have not established sufficient provenance to guarantee this piece was manufactured during World War II. It is therefore being offered as a vintage/WWII-style service banner rather than represented as a documented WWII example.

The small gold-tone anchor ornament appears to have been attached to the banner separately and should not be assumed to have been part of the original factory construction.

Condition is very good overall, showing only light age-related discoloration and handling wear. The colors remain strong, the central blue star displays well, and the hanging cord remains intact. Please review all photographs closely for construction, markings, and condition.
