WWII U.S. Remington Model 1903-A3 Springfield Rifle – .30-06 – March 1943 Production – Excellent Bore – Military Cartouches
Extremely clean World War II U.S. Remington Model 1903-A3 bolt-action military rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. This beautiful example was manufactured during the height of American wartime production in 1943 and retains its traditional military configuration, walnut stock, original-pattern military sights, and numerous military inspection and acceptance markings.
The receiver dates to approximately March 1943 production, and the Remington barrel is marked 3-43, indicating March 1943 manufacture. These closely corresponding production dates are consistent with the rifle’s original wartime assembly period.
The rifle features its full-length military walnut stock and handguards, with attractive reddish-brown coloring and visible military handling marks. The stock retains a circled “P” firing-proof cartouche on the pistol grip, along with additional inspection markings. The metal displays the U.S. flaming bomb ordnance marking, and the barrel retains its Remington manufacturer identification and March 1943 date.
The Model 1903-A3 was developed as a simplified wartime version of the famous Springfield Model 1903. It featured an improved receiver-mounted aperture rear sight and production changes designed to increase manufacturing efficiency during World War II. Remington was one of the principal manufacturers of these rifles, which served American forces during the war and remained in military inventories for years afterward.
This example is in excellent overall condition, with very attractive military metal finish and clean, well-preserved walnut furniture. The stock displays scattered handling marks, small impressions, and scratches consistent with its age and military history. The bore is excellent, with strong rifling and a clean appearance.
The rifle retains its military front sight assembly, adjustable rear aperture sight, full-length handguard, barrel bands, bayonet mounting hardware, and leather military-style sling.
A particularly attractive World War II Remington 1903-A3 with desirable period markings, matching receiver-era and barrel dates, an excellent bore, and outstanding historical appeal.
