Original World War II U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships (NAVSHIPS) Instruction Book for the Cathode Ray Oscillograph Model OBL-2. This manual was manufactured by Reiner Electronics Co., Inc. under Navy contract NXsr 41057 and approved 15 March 1945.

An especially desirable feature is the original ownership markings identifying the manual as having been used aboard USS Oceanus (ARB-2), an Aristaeus-class battle damage repair ship. The cover also bears a period receipt stamp dated February 13, 1950, documenting continued postwar naval service.

Cathode ray oscillographs (oscilloscopes) were critical diagnostic instruments used to test, calibrate, and troubleshoot radar, sonar, radio, and other electronic equipment aboard U.S. Navy vessels during and after WWII.
