Original WWII-era Western Electric KS-8801 electromechanical military radar or communications control assembly, serial number 487. This substantial unit features two original servo mechanisms, including a Western Electric KS-8624 drag-cup servomotor, a calibrated 3,000–4,000 viewing scale, terminal board, cloth-covered wiring and heavy cast mounting base. The exposed internal construction makes an impressive display of early military radar technology. Shows age, dust, oxidation and deterioration to portions of the cloth wiring. Exact application is currently unidentified. Untested and sold as a collectible display, restoration or research piece.
